Successes of Continental Hotel Budapest’s Front Office and F&B Sports Teams
The running team of Continental Hotel Budapest participated in the K&H Marathon running race on Sunday, the 10th June, 2012. The team – consisting of six members, led by Peter Pavletits, Front Office Manager – successfully completed the full marathon distance of 42 kilometers with a time of 4:02:20. The best lap time in the team belonged to Levente Barna (35:22), Gabor Nyerges (37:08) proved to be second fastest, while Szilvia Magdics (40:51) achieved the third best result among the team members.
There were 8 500 individual competitors, with 281 teams comprising of our employees managing to complete the distance, resulting in the running team of Continental Hotel Budapest placing in 194th position.
The Waiter’s Race was organized for the eighth consecutive year on the 20th June, 2012 under the banner of Le Meridien Budapest.
All entry fees are to be donated to the Robert Burns International Foundation to help disadvantaged, disabled and sick children in Hungary. We pride ourselves on our charitable activities, and as a team we rose to the challenge upon hearing about the competition.
Restaurant ARAZ also entered a team of five: Tamas Vilics, Adam Varga, Zoltan Egyhazi, David Ambrus and Adam Stumpf.
Adam Varga posted the best time within that team.
The novelty of the running event was that all participants were required to perform the route between Le Meridien, InterContinental and Marriott hotels, dressed in uniforms, balancing certain drinks on a tray.
Besides rewarding the winner, a lottery was also organised. The good fortune this time favoured our employees, as each of our team members ended the delightful day with a prize.
