The once frequented spa and hotel is now rebounding from its decades-old ruins as ZeinaHotel Kft is building a new hotel in the place of the former Dohany Street Hungaria Spa and Continental Hotel. The new hotel is the result of a 14 bln HUF investment and it will be called Continental Hotel Budapest****Superior. On 20 October 2009, Mazen Al Ramahi, on behalf of the investor ZeinaHotel Kft, and Sandor Bajnok, on behalf of the consortia of the constructor Market Epito Zrt and Kohinor Kft, raised a ˝bokreta” – a popular decoration with ribbons – on the top of the hotel (among ceremonial circumstances). The reason of this event was that the construction of Continental Hotel Budapest****Superior has reached its peak and its structure is ready.
The businessman Mazen Al Ramahi launched the investment a year ago on the premises of the former Hungária Spa and Continental Hotel, which is considered once an iconic building of Budapest. The foundation stone of the new hotel was laid down in April this year within the frameworks of a celebration.
Continental Hotel Budapest****Superior will offer 272 rooms of various categories to its guests who will be able to choose from standard rooms, deluxe rooms with high level business services, more spacious executive rooms and 13 suites with a terrace. The hotel will have special premises: the Gallery Coffee & Bar above the restored Art Nouveau main entrance (40 people), the Roof garden (for receptions to 150 people), the Gallery Hall (180 + 50 people), the board room (24 people) and the ground floor conference rooms (rooms for 60 + 60 + 40 people that can partly be opened into each other). The Boutique Spa will be placed on the top and surrounded by the roof garden with transparent sliding doors and embrace a unique atmosphere. The restaurant’s capacity will be 150 with an open terrace (cap 50) facing the courtyard. Under the hotel, a garage will be constructed for 110 cars. Presumably, Continental Hotel Budapest****Superior is going to host guests from the summer of 2010.
The plans of the hotel were made by the Nivo-prize winner architects, Péter Hegedűs and Péter Vékony. One of Peter Hegedus’s most significant references is Boutique Hotel Budapest****. The interiors are Csilla Sáfrány and Virag Vörös’s work who gained their reputation in the hotel industry with working for Boutique Hotel Budapest****.
Two colleagues of WORLDHOTELS participated in the celebration: Ingo Gürges, Vice President of Hotel Development and Anke Ebinger, Central-European Sales Director, which made a spectacular presentation on the dynamically developing hotel group that operates under 3 different brand names, in 300 regions of 70 countries and represents nearly 500 hotels which all keep their unique characters. Its slogan also refers to this: ˝Unique hotels for people who like uniqueness”. Before joining the hotel group, the hotels went through strict quality examinations as a so called monitoring.

He drew the prize for the lucky winner of the sweepstake; Krisztina Csidei from BCD Travel won a free return ticket for the Frankfurt-New York flight as a gift from Continental Airlines.
