Continuing our unique Wine Duet series, we are guiding our guests to Károly Áts and Géza Balla’s wineries.
The name of Károly Áts, who was awarded the title ’Winegrower of the Year’ in 2012, guarantees the quality of the wines distributed by Tokaj Kereskedőház. In 2002, Károly Ács created the sweet late harvest Tokaji, which was named after him (Ács Cuvée) and has become legendary. At our wine dinner, our guests can taste white wines and cuvées from the Tokaji winery.
Géza Balla owns a vineyard of 61.5 hectares called Ménes, in Aradhegyalja, on 85% of which he grows blue and on 1
5% white grapes. Today, the excellent wines of his winery include Merlot, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Blue Frankish and Kadarka. The speciality of the winery is the Musty White with hussar-like acidity, but the wide range of wines also includes the world breed Sauvignon Blanc, the rose-petal-scented Tramini, the sweet but mystic Princess, the characteristic Grey Friar and the harmonic Italian Riesling. At our wine dinner, our guests can taste the winery’s white, rosé and red wines.
